Rob Helps Grant a Starlight Wish

In the media lately it has been known that Reese Witherspoon is blown away by co-star Robert Pattinson's popularity: "I think all I can do is stand back and sort of watch it happen because I'm not used to seeing somebody have so many fans". One of these fans is Starlight wish girl, Samantha.

Not only was Friday 6th May Starlight Day it was also a VERY special day for Samantha as she was granted her Starlight wish. Whilst over 3,000 people turned up to get only a glimpse of the Twilight star, Robert Pattinson, Samantha got to meet him in person. She was the envy of every young fan meeting Robert at his hotel in Sydney. She also got to go down the red carpet for the movie premiere of 'Water for Elephants'.

Rob Helps Raise Money for RTL Children's Charity

Charitable Fundraiser for Robert's Birthday

Blogger doesn't have a feature to pin posts sooooo...I'm giving this a bump up. :)

Rob's 25th birthday is just around the corner and to acknowledge his special day, I've decided to put together a little fundraiser. As you know, Rob has a great deal of love for animals and, as an owner myself of both an adopted and rescued pet, I thought it would be fitting and meaningful to have fans donate in his honor to the Humane Society of the United States.

For those not familiar with their mission...

We work to reduce suffering and to create meaningful social change for animals by advocating for sensible public policies, investigating cruelty and working to enforce existing laws, educating the public about animal issues, joining with corporations on behalf of animal-friendly policies, and conducting hands-on programs that make ours a more humane world. We are the lead disaster relief agency for animals, and we provide direct care for thousands of animals at our sanctuaries and rescue facilities, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and mobile veterinary clinics.

We celebrate pets, as well as wildlife and habitat protection. We are the nation's most important advocate for local humane societies, providing shelter standards and evaluations, training programs, a national advertising campaign to promote pet adoption, direct support, and national conferences. We operate a Humane Wildlife Services program in the D.C. metro area to provide homeowners and businesses with humane and effective solutions to conflicts with our wild neighbors. The HSUS publishes All Animals, a membership magazine, and Animal Sheltering, a bi-monthly magazine for animal sheltering professionals.

We confront national and global cruelties through major campaigns.... Our track record of effectiveness has led to meaningful victories for animals in Congress, state legislatures, courtrooms and corporate boardrooms.

I've created a special fundraising page via 'First Giving' which will allow fans to make secured donations directly to the organization.

I realize times are tough and wallets are tight. So any amount, no matter how small, that you are interested in donating will be of benefit to the Humane Society and their efforts.
