Details on the 'Water for Elephants' May 6 Premiere in Sydney

Details on the 'Water for Elephants' premiere in Sydney from our affiliate Robert Pattinson Australia...

Okay for those who have emailed/tweeted/begged us for information about what’s happening on Friday night at the Sydney Premiere of Water for Elephants, Fox have exclusively provided us with their latest press release of what you, the fans both lining or walking the red carpet, should expect:

“AUSTRALIA ROLLS OUT ITS LONGEST RED CARPET FOR STARS REESE WITHERSPOON AND ROBERT PATTINSON AT WATER FOR ELEPHANTS PREMIERE

Sydney will be the setting for one of the biggest film premieres Australia has seen this Friday May 6 when the stars of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS – REESE WITHERSPOON & ROBERT PATTINSON will walk an unprecedented 300 metre red carpet to celebrate the film’s premiere at the State Theatre.
For the first time, Pitt St Mall will be home to a bustling red carpet that will begin at the King St entrance of the mall leading to the State Theatre on Market St where the film will screen.

From 6pm, REESE WITHERSPOON & ROBERT PATTINSON joined by director FRANCIS LAWRENCE will walk the length of the carpet, along with 2000 guests that will include a host of VIP celebrities and a who’s who of the Australian film industry.

This will be the first time that both actors have travelled to Australia to promote a film. The premiere will be the only opportunity for fans to see WITHERSPOON and PATTINSON while they are in Australia and organisers are expecting over 3000 fans to attend the event.

To manage the anticipated crowd at the red carpet, concert barricades have been brought in from around the country to accommodate the 500 metres required for the event – this is more concert barrier then used at large music festivals such as the Big Day Out.

With a red carpet of this size organisers are able to accommodate the thousands of fans expected on the night. It is also anticipated that enthusiastic fans will arrive hours before the event, eager to secure their spot on the carpet and get up close to their favourite Hollywood actors.”
