Opening in theaters later this month, WATER FOR ELEPHANTS is the much-anticipated big screen adaptation of SARA GRUEN’S best-selling 2006 novel about love and danger under the Big Top. Set in the 1930s against a circus backdrop, the film is directed by FRANCIS LAWRENCE (I AM LEGEND) and stars REESE WITHERSPOON, ROBERT PATTINSON, CHRISTOPH WALTZ, HAL HOLBROOK and TAI, a 42-year-old elephant and veteran of such films as BIGGER THAN LIFE and THE JUNGLE BOOK. A huge hit with fellow cast members, TAI was a source of constant entertainment and proved to be quite the professional. At the recent press conference for the film, PATTINSON talked about their first meeting. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
