Preview of Robert's Interview with Vanity Fair Italy
“I don’t know why but all Robert Pattinson interviews start with a description on how he is dressed. My interview, however, has not yet been written: it will be ready in Italy when his new movie is released, the one after “Twilight”. I mean ” Water for Elephants”; probably in May. But what I do know is that I will do something different, I won’t say anything about how he was dressed.
I also know that in Pattinson’s case, even the smallest details can’t be ignored, as millions of women worldwide, from 9 years old, would sacrifice more than a broken a nail just to get their hands on the smallest piece of information on him. Therefore here’s a detailed account of Pattinson’s look. The location: a second floor suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles. The time: 3:30 in the afternoon and although it is not his first interview of the day, it seems like he just got out of bed.
Finally he arrives: He pours himself a cup of coffee, “I need to wake up”, he apologizes. And, indeed, he has the sleepy face, but his eyes are incredibly clear. Then he sits down and puts his feet near the coffee table in front of the chair. He’s wearing a pair of black jeans, quite narrow at the bottom, he moves back on bended knees exposing bare skin between his short socks (which are also black) and the edge of his trousers. He has white skin and dark hair that is sparse. Oh his feet: a pair of Dr. Martens, ça va sans dire, black. His outfit is completed with a T-shirt and a jacket that I would say are vintage. The hair on his neck is shaved, with a little bit visible at the front , his skin is clear and smooth. And his lips: I swear, the reddest I’ve ever seen on a man…”

Article: Robert Pattinson to Star in Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis'
From Death+Taxes magazine...
Don DeLillo’s “Cosmopolis” is a vintage, icy satire. It might share the NYC setting and financial playground staked out by Oliver Stone in “Wall Street,” but whereas Charlie Sheen stands at his balcony and asks, “Who am I,” Eric Packer looks at his skyscraper penthouse from the street below and remembers, “I want a haircut.”
And so begins Packer’s Ulyssian odyssey through Manhattan as a 28 year old billionaire hedge fund manager, who’s made his money in tech stocks, and has an almost abstract-nihilistic approach to life and business (...)
...is it possible for Robert Pattinson to pull of a character that can so easily descend into caricature?
My guess is that he could possibly pull off Packer’s icy, intellectual arrogance, as well as the threads of emotion running underneath the character’s veneer. Perhaps Pattinson was who Cronenberg needed to greenlight “Cosmopolis,” although I have a hard time believing Cronenberg would crumble to studio pressure on casting.
Whatever the case, the field of actors at the appropriate age is limited. Who wants to see James Franco in another project, and Ryan Gosling is too obvious a choice for this role. The fact that Juliette Binoche and Mathieu Amalric have been cast will surely help raise Pattinson’s game.
If anyone can make Pattinson into Packer, it will be Cronenberg.

KINOLOGY
It is an April day in the year 2000 and an era is about to end. The booming times of market optimism -- when the culture boiled with money and corporations seemed more vital and influential than governments -- are poised to crash. Eric Packer (Pattinson), a billionaire asset manager at age twenty-eight, emerges from his penthouse triplex and settles into his lavishly customized white stretch limousine.
Today he is a man with two missions: to pursue a cataclysmic bet against the yen and to get a haircut across town. Stalled in traffic by a presidential motorcade, a music idol's funeral, and a violent political demonstration, Eric receives a string of visitors -- experts on security, technology, currency, finance, and a few sexual partners -- as the limo sputters toward an increasingly uncertain future. Based on the novel by Don DeLillo.
(Giamatti plays the dual role of Benno Levin/Richard Steers. / Production office opens Mid-March.)

Reese Witherspoon Speaks Highly of Robert Pattinson
Reese Witherspoon: "Pattinson is amazing"
Academy Award Winner gushes about her 'Water For Elephants' co-star
Reese Witherspoon says she's become great friends with her ‘Water For Elephants’ co-star Robert Pattinson.
The 34-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight that the ‘Twilight’ star is one of the nicest people she knows.
"I am so lucky," she said. "He's so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup."
But the 'Legally Blonde' star, who announced her engagement to Hollywood agent Jim Toth last year, shot down any suggestions of a romance between her and Pattinson, who played her son in 2004 movie ‘Vanity Fair.’
The pair, who play forbidden lovers in the new movie, based on a New York Times bestseller of the same title, keep each other smiling on set even after the cameras stopped rolling.
"I mean, he's just so good looking and he's a really nice person," the actress added.
'Water for Elephants' is due to be released in the spring.

'Water for Elephant's is among The Filmstage's most anticipated films of 2011...
Synopsis: A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
Why You Should See It: Based on the best-selling novel, this film boosts an impressive cast including Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz. The trailer looks stunning, and with Waltz in the intriguing role of August Rosenbluth, it’s hopeful that the story will be equally pleasing.
